Judges Competition Preview

Hi Chris, Please find below the images that are to be judged by you on: Monday, February 20th 2012

The format of the Competition is: Digital Images

The Subject of the competition is: A Trio of pictures of a single subject on a single Projected Image.

Please note that all our competitions, including Prints, are projected on to a screen so that the whole audience can see them. If the format is Prints, then we ask that you judge the ‘ACTUAL PRINT’ and not what you can see on the screen, because there will be a variance of colour and sharpness etc.

We mark all of our competitions by 1st, 2nd, 3rd and as many Highly Commended and Commended awards that you may wish to give. We find that the higher number of  HC and C awards given, spreads the enthusiasm to as many members as possible, especially in the Novice section. We encourage members to enter competitions to receive friendly constructive feedback on their images, especially in the Novice section. There are also a number of the Novice section members just been moved to the Open section and these are their first competitions in this category.

There are 2 sections in this competition - Novice (34 images) and Open/Advanced (36 Images). Each to be judged as separate competitions please.

At the end of the evening, we also ask you to decide on our Jolly Traveller award from all the entries during the evening. The Jolly Traveller is a Prestige Trophy that is handed to a specific winner of a specific nature at every competition. At each Club competition, the Judge will present Mr Jolly Traveller to the author of the Print or Image who he or she felt either brought a little dry humour into the subject or there was that special little touch that made the photograph ‘special’ to them - this is not necessarily one of the winning images.

It is part of the process, that the each winner of the Jolly Traveller must take a photograph of him in a place he has been taken to for a day out and send his picture in to add to the Jolly Traveller web page (in the Competition Results section)
